It's no secret that there are skills gaps in our community.
What would happen if we worked together to lessen those gaps? What if some of the best opportunities to build skills are hiding in our everyday work?
This Getting Connected event is all about weaving skill development into the work you already do. Through practical activities, we’ll explore how to spot, name and build skills in everyday interactions—whether teaching is at the heart of your role or simply part of how you can better support others.
We’ll look at how everyday moments (conversations, coaching, guiding clients through programs and navigating next steps) can help strengthen essential skills like communication, adaptability, and problem solving.
Come for lunch & learning, and leave with a new tools & connections for seizing the skill-building opportunities around you!

Lunch n' Learn: Creating Conditions for Capability
How do we help people become more confident, capable, and able to navigate change? Often, the answer lies not in what we teach, but in how we show up in our interactions with them. In this interactive session, participants will explore how assumptions, curiosity, questions, and responses shape opportunities for learning and growth. Using practical tools and real-world scenarios, participants will identify ways to move from solving problems for people to creating opportunities for them to think, practice, and develop the human skills needed for work, learning, and life.
