<h3>Pistons Neighbors Program presents:</h3><h2>Let’s Play: A Learning Series on Activating Public Spaces</h2><p></p><p>Sharpen your skills as a neighborhood public space programmer. This is the fifth session in our virtual learning series designed to help nonprofits and neighborhood organizations provide spaces and activities for Detroit residents to stay active during every season.</p><p><strong>Speakers:</strong></p><ul><li>JJ Vélez, Director of Public Spaces, Rocket Community Fund</li><li>Matthew Schmitt, Program Manager, Michigan Community Resources</li></ul><p>Topics covered include:</p><ul><li>Finding suitable funding sources</li><li>Dos and Don’ts of fundraising campaigns</li><li>Grant writing overview: program description; implementation plan; creating a budget; documentation</li><li>501c3 vs. identifying a fiscal sponsor</li></ul><p>After the session, you’ll receive a guide with key takeaways and resources via email.</p><p>Detroit based organizations that attend at least one session will be invited to apply for a mini grant. Get more information about the grants during the session.</p>
