Get ready to ignite your child's creativity and passion for fashion with our Kids Sewing 101 Boot Camp!

Designed specifically for young aspiring designers aged 8 to 13 years, this in-person workshop is an exciting opportunity for them to learn valuable sewing skills while unleashing their imagination.

In this dynamic boot camp, children will embark on a hands-on journey through the basics of sewing, guided by experienced instructors who specialize in working with young learners. From threading needles to operating sewing machines, every step of the process is carefully explained and demonstrated, ensuring a supportive and engaging learning environment.

As they dive into the world of fashion, kids will explore the fundamentals of fabric selection, learning how to choose materials that suit their design vision. During our first workshop, we'll dive deep into getting to know the sewing machine inside and out. If your child already has their own sewing machine at home, we warmly welcome them to bring it along to the workshop. This way, they can become familiar with their own equipment while benefiting from the guidance of our experienced instructors.

As we move forward in the workshop, each day brings new opportunities for creativity and skill-building. On the second day, every student will embark on crafting their very own denim tote bag. Then, on the third day, it's time to start cutting patterns for a summer staple: either a skirt or a pair of shorts. With guidance and support, each student will bring their vision to life.

By the fourth day of the workshop, projects will be nearing completion. Students will put the finishing touches on their garments, ensuring every seam is perfect and every detail is just right. And finally, on the last day, it's time to celebrate! Each student will have the chance to try on their completed garment for the final fitting, capturing the moment with photos to commemorate their achievement.

To mark this special occasion, we'll have cupcakes and water on hand for a sweet celebration of their hard work and creativity. It's a chance for students to reflect on their progress, share their accomplishments with friends and family, and bask in the joy of bringing their designs to life.

With each stitch and seam, our workshop is not just about creating garments—it's about fostering confidence, creativity, and a sense of accomplishment that will last a lifetime. Join us as we embark on this exciting journey together!

During this course your kids will learn:

· all of the necessary sewing terminology & equipment to get started

· how make a garment

· how to choose the right fabric for a garment, either a dress or drawstring shorts

· how to identify fabric grain lines

· different types of stitches & seam finishes you can complete using a sewing machine!
