What time is check-in?

Check-in is from 5pm-7pm on Friday, May 17th. No late check-ins will be able to be accommodated. A bus will depart the Naha airport at 5:00PM for Okuma.

What are the Girl Scout sleeping arrangements?

All Girl Scouts will sleep in a tent outside. Girl Scouts should bring or rent a tent, sleeping bag, or sleeping mat (not available to rent). Please note that Girl Scouts may be paired with member of other troops based on group sizes.

What are the adult sleeping arrangements?

Adults can choose to stay in a tent or a cabin. At least one adult from each group must plan to stay in a tent. Adults staying in a tent should either bring a tent or rent one (rental available in registration). No Girl Scouts will be allowed to sleep in a cabin, and cabin space is limited.

Do I have to bring my own camping equipment?

If you don't have your own sleeping bag or tent, simply add on the rental for those items during your registration! Sleeping mats are not available for rental.

What are the adult responsibilities during this weekend?

Adult volunteers will be responsible for supervising their Girl Scouts, assisting with outdoor activities, and helping with meals. USAGSO staff and volunteers will provide all leadership training and lead all activities.

What food will be provided?

Registration includes: Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, Saturday lunch, Saturday dinner, and Sunday breakfast. Please note any dietary restrictions in your registration.

What if I need to arrive late or leave early?

Please contact Kathryn at kwene@girlscouts.org to arrange for late arrival or early departure before registering to be sure that we can accommodate your needs.

I'm in a civilian community. Can I still participate?

Yes! We will work with you to get a pass for anyone who does not have military base access. We will reach out for more information and let you know what documents will be required for you to bring.

How do I get to Okuma?

For those living outside of Okinawa, we recommend flying into Naha International Airport (OKA). We have arranged transportation to take you from the airport to Okuma at 5:00PM, so please book a flight that will arrive by then. Driving is the best way to get to Okuma for those living on Okinawa.
