About this event

Registration on Event Brite is required to manage camping capacity and tools.

Join Wild Arizona for a day of community camaraderie and trailblazing as we come together to clear KP Rim Trail #315- one step and one tree at a time. Work will include brushing, working on the tread(surface) of the trail, using crosscut saws to remove downed logs from the trail, and more! Help us make it more accessible for hikers, bikers, and nature enthusiasts alike! No experience necessary. ALL ARE WELCOME!

This is a three day weekend event with Saturday being the only day we focus on trail upkeep. If you are interested in attending Saturday only, we'd love to have you; please register to ensure a spot.

Friday at 3pm, we will be camping at KP Cienega Campground, 33.57669, -109.35523. Wild Arizona will provide a two burner stove for volunteers to use as needed to cook meals during the weekend. WA will also provide enough water to supply the weekend. Volunteers are responsible for providing their own meals during this outing. However, a communal meal will be provided Saturday evening.

Saturday, we will meet/carpool to the trailhead, 33.61347, -109.32851 at 9.a.m. and will work along the trail until 2 p.m. Wild Arizona will provide all the necessary tools, protective equipment, and guidance for a successful event.

Sunday, we will breakdown camp and bid our adieus.

KP Rim Trail #315 is roughly two miles long with an elevation drop of 400 feet.

A significant part of what we do at Wild Arizona is working to restore wild places through our Wilderness Stewardship - aka Wild Stew!

Wild Stew aims to provide Arizona’s communities and volunteers with in-depth training, resources, and logistical support in order to protect and restore Arizona’s public lands. We also aim to cultivate land stewardship, appreciation for wild places, deeper ecological understanding, and advocacy, by providing opportunities for positive experiences in the natural world. With appreciation for Arizona’s wildlands and waters, we make tangible contributions to enhance the integrity and ecological condition of Arizona’s wild places by maintaining hiking trails, restoring riparian habitats and removing invasive plants, inventorying and monitoring Wilderness and potential Wilderness areas, and more!
