About this event

Communication builds strength in marriage. We all know this but where do we start with skills of communication?

This workshop focuses on understanding your own way of communicating and identifying what aspects of communication you may need to work on.

So when you do find your naseeb you are able to work together meaningfully and get to reconnecting without unnecessary hurdles or escalations.

Learn About:

- Emotional Flashbacks/ Triggers

- Emotion Regulation

- Your Own Needs to Feel Loved

- What Blocks You Feeling Loved

- Communication with In-laws & Parents.

- Self-Reflection

-Navigating Conflict

- De-escalation Techniques

A lot of millenials and gen z's have parents that shut down and avoid confrontation, or have parents who may struggle with anger. Unfortunately the impact it has on us (the children) is that we either pick up a similar mechanism of avoidance and shoving emotions under the rug, or we have angry spurts that often escalate the situation, meaning communication was often not a thing in our family systems , and if there was communication, it may have been full of emotions and needs that were delivered with spite, regret, disdain, or pure rage etc.

Regardless, this can be worked on by you. We can already see that many people have realised the negative impacts of communication and emotions being suppressed, and have started working on this in their own way, and you can do just that in a more indepth manner throught this workshop! We will have role playing, reflections, psychoeducation and more inshallah.

Come and explore yourself, and learn practical ways to manage emotions, strategies for communications, and create meaningful positive change for the betterment of your future.

We will touch on communications with:

Yourself (inner voice)

Your Family

Your Future Hubby

And Hubby's Family

You will be guided by Nafisa (Fisa) who is from Bangladesh, raised in Sydney. She has a culturally and religiously sensitive approach without belittling or minimising the voice of the wife (You!)

Resources and light refreshments will be provided!
