Event description

This week is National Coding Week, so every day Full Stack Of Pancakes is hosting workshops to get Manchester coding.

In this workshop, we're going to learn about and playing with the master of file management - GIT. You'll leave having learnt about deploying your code, making changes, pushes, pulls, branches and masters - all the important stuff you'd need to know to get your code working and how to work on larger projects with your fellow coders.

Where is this event being held?

TUESDAY 19th - MoneySavingExpert, 57 Spring Gardens (Corner of West Mosley Street), Manchester M2 2BY

THURSDAY 21st - Feed Manchester, The Hive, 4th Floor, 51 Lever Street, Manchester, M1 1FN

What is Git?

Git is a distributed version control system. To translate that into English, Git is a tool to help keep track of changes you make to your coding project and allows you and a team to share these changes with each other. Git helps you collaborate and manage your project files which is useful for personal projects but essential for commercial projects.If/when you become an employed developer you'll discover that getting your code up and running is a team effort, not a lonely endeavour undertaken by one developer in their bedroom.

Who is this workshop for?

Any adult with an active interest in learning to code! You'll already be confident with using a computer and web browsers, you might have already started learning to code HTML and CSS for example, this workshop will enhance your existing skill-set by explaining new concepts to you.
