About this event

The American Geographical Society is making a proud return to the headquarters of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency for a one-day mini-symposium.

Please join us on Wednesday, July 27 for presentations and discussions on:

  • The Future of the Arctic
  • Climate Change
  • Food, Water, & Equity
  • The 100th Anniversary of the Office of the Geographer of the United States

Following the event, there will be a reception in honor of the 100th Anniversary of the Geographer from 3:30pm to 5:30pm.

IMPORTANT: Non-US citizens wishing to attend the event must register no later than Sunday, June 12. Registration for US citizens will close Sunday, July 10.

Please note the following COVID-19 protocols:

  • Official onsite visitors must complete a DD Form 3150, “Contractor and Visitor Certification of Vaccination," and show it to authorized DoD personnel, upon request. Failure to complete the DD Form 3150 may result in denial of an official onsite visitor’s access to NGA facilities. Attendees who do not have a DoD number do not need to fill in Line 2 of the DD Form 3150.
  • The current COVID status for the Conference Center is based on the CDC Transmission rate being LOW with no mask required and no testing for unvaccinated persons. Attestation form (above) is still required for visitors. This is subject to review and change weekly if needed. 6 ft social distancing is still required at NGA.
