Geocaching 101 Workshop

Friends of Government Canyon is made up of a growing group of active volunteers who take pride in the work we do — from grooming trails to facilitating education programs to advocating the protection of the Aquifer and numerous resources found within the boundaries of the Natural Area. We are hikers, naturalists, artists, mountain bikers, runners, researchers, clean water advocates and in general, lovers of the outdoors with one common mission; protecting and preserving the Natural Area.

Who is Invited
Open to ages 12 and up; minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
Registration & Fees
Registration required for EACH participant. Sorry, no group registrations. Natural Area entry <A HREF="http://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/government-canyon/fees-facilities/entrance-fees" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">fees</A> apply; stop at the Entrance Fee Booth to self-pay/register.
When & Where to Meet
Arrive by 9:45 a.m. Parking Lot C and meet at the picnic tables near the Playscape.  Plan ahead, as heavy visitation at the Natural Area can cause longer lines at the fee booth, arrive early to avoid delays. 
What to Wear & Bring
Some GPS units will be available for those who don't yet have one or you may bring your own.  We will be seeking temporary caches that are close to the workshop area.
Requirements
Group size is limited to 10. No pets please. Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian. To reduce human impact on the Natural Area, please follow the Leave No Trace principles of outdoor ethics.
