About this event

Class Name: Gentle Power & Sisu - A Yin Yoga Journey

Embrace the fusion of tranquility and fortitude in our unique yin yoga class taught from a trauma-informed lens, "Gentle Power & Sisu". This class is an exploration of inner strength, patience, and fortitude through the lens of yin yoga and the Finnish concept of Sisu as demonstrated in Emilia Elisabeth Lahti's book Gentle Power.

Sisu, a term with no direct translation, embodies the spirit of unyielding tenacity, resilience, and hardiness, deeply ingrained in Finnish culture. It's about displaying courage and resolve in the face of adversity.

In this class, we'll journey together through a series of deep, restorative yin yoga poses designed to tap into your innate power gently. We'll focus on cultivating mental softness and emotional fortitude - the essence of Sisu - while maintaining a state of curiosity and inner authority by promoting curiosity and personal agency.

As we explore shape, we'll encourage introspection, allowing you to connect with your inner 'gentle power'. We'll explore how the quiet strength of yin yoga can help us harness the enduring spirit of Sisu.

This class is suitable for all levels, providing a customized space to stretch, explore, and cultivate the inner sanctuary within.

Join us on this unique journey of resilience, strength, and serenity. Discover the gentle power within you and awaken your Sisu spirit!
