Generator is a performance discussing physical and systemic power dynamics. Composed by Lori Scacco and performed by two cellos, the work explores interconnectivity through resonance, echoing energy that travels through land and body to generate and transmit power across thousands of miles. It acknowledges systems that build and sustain opaque power structures, with little regard for the connection between host and recipient. Performed in the open of the Mojave, the desert landscape is an integral part of the work. Generator was commissioned and created for Networks of Power, an installation by Debra Scacco created in response to and situated upon Nathaniel Ancheta’s Platform. Generator is presented by Lancaster Museum of Art and History (MOAH) and Art In Residence with sponsorships generously provided by the Lancaster Museum and Public Art Foundation and Allied Physical Medicine. Limited tickets will be available for reservation beginning Saturday, October 10 at 10:00 AM, exclusively on Eventbrite. All guests must have a ticket reserved in order to attend. All attendees must maintain a social distance of 6 feet or more from fellow guests. Masks are required and must be worn at all times. The site is open desert, and does not have any amenities (including bathrooms). Guests are asked to remain seated for the duration of the performance. The site can be very windy and is very dusty. Please plan accordingly.Tentative Event Schedule:5:30 PM - Guests Arrive5:30-5:45 PM - Seating5:45-5:50 PM - Artists Introduction5:50-6:15 PM - Performance6:15-6:30 PM - Closing
