Generation W

Generation WORKS is a dedicated day of service led by women and girls (of course men and boys are welcome too!) with the objective of bringing sustainable change and impact to our neighborhoods. Volunteers will wire, weld, wash, and work their magic to transform our city for the greater good.
 
All volunteers will register at Unity Plaza (220 Riverside Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32202) before heading to their respective project sites:
7:00 am - Volunteer registration will opens (includes light breafkast and coffee)  
7:45 am - Kick Off Ceremony with Honorary Chairs and Presenting Partners
8:30 am - Projects begin at their respective locations
 
Below are the agencies and projects that you have the option to participate in. You will have the opportunity to choose from the below projects once you enter the registration site. Each project has a limited amount of volunteers it is able to accommodate. We are proud to be working with the following agencies on these projects to improve the lives of those they serve, as well as your own. Please be advised that projects may be subject to change.

<LI>The Children's Home Society of Florida - Presented by A Day of Difference (3027 San Diego Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32207): Campus-wide landscape clean up involving trimming bushes, weeding flowerbeds, trimming tree limbs and palms, raking leaves and pine straw, removing old bushes, and distributing mulch. Refresh playground area. </LI>
</UL>
<UL>
<LI>Hemming Park (135 W. Monroe St., Jacksonville, FL 32202): Park landscaping, mulching, planting flowers and trash clean up. </LI>
</UL>
<UL>
<LI>Young Men's Leadership Academy at Eugene J. Butler Middle School (900 Acorn St., Jacksonville, FL 32209): Campus clean up around the track and back of school, including trash pick up. Makeover bulletin boards to display positive examples of leadership and service.</LI>
</UL>
<UL>
<LI>Generation WORKS Kick Off Ceremony (220 Riverside Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32202): Help the Generation WORKS team with registration, welcoming, setting up breakfast, and cleaning up (please note that arrival time 6:00am).</LI>
</UL>
<UL>
<LI>Generation WOW - Presented by United Way (220 Riverside Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32202): Assemble healthy snack packages for students supported by Full Service Schools</LI>
</UL>
<UL>
<LI>Unity Plaza (220 Riverside Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32202): Beautification of former beer garden area, including but not weeding/light landscaping and hanging garden lights along lake bannister. </LI>
</UL>
<UL>
<LI>PROJECT FULL Feeding Northeast Florida - Presented by CIT (1116 Edgewood Ave N, Jacksonville, FL 32254): Inspect, sort, and pack food to be distributed to agencies that feed those who are hungry. </LI>
</UL>
<UL>
<LI>PROJECT FULL Angelwood (11251 Philips Parkway Drive E, Jacksonville, FL 32256): Build raised gardening beds at the Career Development Center for adults with developmental disabilities.</LI>
</UL>
<UL>
<LI>PROJECT FULL Dignity U Wear - Presented by Wells Fargo (136 Myrtle Ave N, Jacksonville, FL 32204): **Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older**  Sort brand new clothing donations by gender, size, and item type to be distributed to partner social services agencies.</LI>
</UL>

<LI>PROJECT FULL GRASP Academy - Presented by Interline Brands (3101 Justina Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32211): Makeover the library to accommodate students who learn differently by sorting/organizing books, rearranging furniture, and creating different thematic centers.  </LI>
</UL>
<UL>
<LI>PROJECT FULL Habijax - Presented by University of North Florida (1401 Grunthal St, Jacksonville FL 32209):**Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older** Habijax will work in the New Town area by Edward waters College. Project will take place on one or more active construction sites in need of painting, landscaping, and/or installing vinyl siding.</LI>

<LI>PROJECT FULL Hubbard House (Please go to Unity Plaza to be given address upon registration, located at 220 Riverside Ave, Jacksonville, FL, 32202): Aid in administrative tasks, including but not limited to making 8000 copies of packets/folders. Painting hallways and hanging artwork in hallways and common areas. Mulching grounds (location TBD)</LI>

<LI>PROJECT FULL Sulzbacher Center (611 East Adams St, Jacksonville, FL 32202): Prepare hygiene and personal care packages and stuff/assemble donation letters and other administrative tasks as needed.</LI>
</UL>

<LI>PROJECT FULL Rethreaded - Presented by Paul Davis (820 Barnett St, Jacksonville, FL 32209): Clean/remodel the Rethreaded warehouse and create decorations for an upcoming fundraiser. </LI>
