Do you love to rock out in slinky black dresses, combat boots and your beard trimmed to perfection? Or have you always wanted to headbang in a binder, a fake mustache and kitten heels? Or maybe hell will freeze over before you abandon your cargo shorts and birkenstocks but you love punk music and to celebrate those people who express their non-conforming gender with ferocity? If so, then do I have the party for you!Join us for Utah’s premier queer pride kick-off party, Genderfuq, at the Sugar Space Arts Warehouse (132 S 800 W) on June 27th from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm where you are encouraged to challenge gender norms and stereotypes while enjoying performances from talented, local trans and gender-non-conforming performers.Started by Rock Princess, Sofia Scott, Genderfuq began as an event on the margins of pride festivals to give trans rock performers a place to showcase their talents. Now it’s a main event. If you haven’t attended in prior years, don’t make that mistake again!Hosted by Sammee St. James and Mona Diet, this all-ages event will feature concessions for purchase, a queer market and an amazing line-up you don’t want to miss: <ul><li>Body Horror</li><li>Grace &amp; Silence</li><li>floatinground</li><li>Sleepy Moon Ray</li><li>Lux St. Diamond</li><li>Justin Secrecy</li><li>Black Lucious</li></ul>If you are QTBIPOC, don’t even bother buying a ticket, because you get in free. For everyone else, tickets are only $5 for 17 and under and $10 for adults. To avoid the pesky event fees from the ticketing vendor, tickets will be available for purchase at the venue. So put the date on your calendar and start choosing your outfit, because you will find no better place to start the party for SLC Pride’s inaugural festival than Genderfuq. Hope to see you there!
