Geekettes Lean In 

Life is about self-discovery, growing from within, but also sharing wisdom and experience from others. Geekettes is a new organization facilitating relationships between female entrepreneurs in the technology sector. I created Geekettes as it became increasingly clear that female technology professionals required their own grassroots structure to share wisdom and experience.Organic growth allows us to build a community based on personal relationships and subsequent trust. We exchange experiences, strategize solutions to common problems, and support each other professionally and personally.Though skilled in 21stcentury communication, we value in-person networking events where we share human experiences and build personal relationships. Personal relationships will also be cultivated through a developing innovative mentorship program: Female technology students will be connected with female professionals who they can then shadow, consult, and develop their network with.The blog, meet-ups, and mentorships all spin a web of professional and personal relationships providing support, connections, and inspiration. The result is going to be female grads who will be inspired to start their own businesses, pioneer fresh ideas, invigorate relationships and excel professionally. Join us.

Ladies, We're back in action! After almost 6 months of keeping a low profile we're kickstart-ing our Geekettes Lean In series. Our mission? To nurture a supportive and safe environment for women working in tech, an environment in which they can exchange information and learn from each other and from other specialists. What's Lean In? LeanIn.Org (also known as Lean In Foundation) is a nonprofit organization, dedicated "to offering women the ongoing inspiration and support to help them achieve their goals." Founded in 2016 by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, the organization offers educational resources and programming that encourages female leadership. What's the first session about? Body language in the digital era is an interactive talk given by Irina Botea, Lean In Regional Leader for Germany. The main goal behind it is to discover how our body language(s) adapted to our modern communication environments. The better we understand how this changes came to be, the more we'll be aware of our bodies during our next facetime chat or conference call. When will it take place? March 8th, the International Day of the Women, will be the date of our first workshop of 2017. Where will it take place? The workshop will be hosted at the Berlin HQ of Contentful, in their event space, Contentful FooBar - Ritterstrasse 12-14, 10969 Berlin.  What do you need to do? 1. RSVP by booking your eventbrite ticket.  2. Bring in your positive attitude and desire to connect with other women working in tech. 3. Get ready to share your stories.
