GDPR Sofia Event

Digital National Alliance ( DNA)is part of the initiative of the European CommissionDigital Skills and Jobs Coalition.The initiative is a response to the big shortage of professionals and experts, employed In the ICT sector in the European Union. This shortage is a huge obstacle for the economic growth of the Union.DNA is an organization withnon-political bodyand members, established in 2013 from Gergana Passy- Digital Champion for Bulgaria.The main goalof the organization is to promote the digital technologies, to achieve more efficient implementation of the digital opportunities and to assist the development of the ICT sector in Bulgaria.DNA channels the efforts of the business, the academia and the government of Bulgaria and works for the achievement of the priorities of the Digital Agenda of Europe.

Digital National Alliance

The GDPR Sofia event will be held on 29 January 2018 and will be a one-day deep-dive conference focusing on the effects of the upcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) - the EU's largest data protection reform. It will come into force in May 2018 during the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council and will become a part of the rules which will be mandatory for all businesses, operating with personal data. 
During the event, you will have the opportunity to raise questions directly with Mariya Gabriel, EU Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, and Lilyana Pavlova, Minister of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU.
If your company or organization deals with personal data of EU citizens, the regulation requires a significant change in the way personal data is handled and processed and you will need to be well prepared for that.
