Join us every Wednesday for Gatherings, a creative arts wellness workshop that features a different art project each week. Using simple tools, participants explore the expressive arts in a relaxed, supportive environment. Connect with others. Reconnect with your creative spirit.

Classes: Wednesdays, April through June 2026, 10:00-12:30 at the Artists Center, Palm Desert, CA

Instructor will provde all materials for this class but she strongly suggests students bring a 140lb. mixed media journal (approximately 9x12") and favorite art-making tools: colored pencils, pens, etc.

Instructor Bio: Judy Nemer Sklar

With over 20 years of experience in integrating visual arts, creative writing, and mindfulness practices into education, wellness, and community programs, along with my role as the owner of "Creative Life Workshops for Health and Wellness" and "I am Enough," a children’s illustration initiative, I bring a unique interdisciplinary approach that fosters creativity, resilience, and emotional well-being across diverse populations.

Through my work with organizations such as the Riverside County Office of Education, Eisenhower Medical Center, Sunnylands/Annenberg Trust, and the Palm Desert Library, to name only a few, I have designed and facilitated workshops that empower participants to explore self-expression and healing through the arts. My projects, such as A Gathering Process, which supported communities in processing pandemic experiences, and I am Enough, a children’s illustration initiative, demonstrate my commitment to using art as a transformative tool for personal growth and connection. II am in my final year and currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling with a specialty in Expressive Arts Therapy, my second Master of Arts degree, which further deepens my expertise in integrating creative arts and wellness.
