Gary Smalls Gallery Project presents: Roots & Reflections

Scribe Video Center was founded in 1982 as a place where emerging and experienced media artists could gain access to the tools and knowledge of video making and work together in a supportive environment. Scribe provides training in all aspects of film, video and audio production. We also offer classes in computer-based interactive media to individuals and community organizations as well. We give emerging and mid-level video makers the skills and opportunity to use video and film as tools for self-expression and for representing and supporting their communities.

Opening Reception: Friday, August  23 4:00PM - 6:30PM

In this exhibition, artists Wanda Payne, Misty Sol, Dawn Stringer, and Ellen Tiberino, explore narratives passed down from several generations of family members, with a focus on elders. Though each of these four artists commands her own unique visual language, united in form and expression, they remain connected to the ancestral roots of their inspiration. The Gary Smalls Gallery project at Scribe is curated by John Abner and Tamara Mason.. On view from August 23, 2024 - September 20, 2024
