What is a Garry Oak Ecosystem?

Garry Oak ecosystem are one of the most endangered ecosystems in Canada. Once common throughout southeastern Vancouver Island, these ecosystems play an important role in cultural heritage. Coast Salish people have harvested food and medicines from this ecosystem for hundreds of years.

What property will I be helping to restore?

Why are you doing this?

Dress for the weather. If you will be working on removing blackberry, you'll also want to wear long sleeves and pants.
