Garden Work Day!
813 Hood Garden is a community-led garden activating our community in Tampa to build abundant food access and holistic community wellness. We aim to nourish the whole being - mind, body, and soul - through growing food, yoga, art, community events, dinners, and more.
Located at 10004 North 11th Street, Tampa, FL 33612, we grow a variety of vegetables, culinary and medicinal herbs, and flowers on a space about the size of a backyard. Throughout the spring, we need your help in cultivating and beautifying the Garden!
Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, this space is for you. Our friendly team will be there to guide you every step of the way. It's a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, meet like-minded individuals, and make a positive impact on our local environment and community.
Depending on what needs to be done, every Garden Work Day will have different activities and tasks. Common tasks include weeding, watering, planting, repairing garden equipment, mulching, and harvesting. Remember to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated and feel free to bring a snack and your own gardening gloves (if you prefer).
