Garden Talk with Greg Skomal

A classically trained fisheries biologist, Skomal currently works for the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries, serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Massachusetts, and is director of the Massachusetts Shark Research Program. He is the foremost expert on sharks in the area.

Greg Skomal leads the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy's white shark research. His work has helped get an accurate picture of shark movements and seasonal residency off the waters of Cape Cod. Skomal is looking for where, when and how these sharks hunt their prey, the frequency of feeding events and the environmental factors that drive the behaviour of these animals.
