Description

FUTURE WEEK; THE ALGORITHM DRIVEN NEWS ROOM (EN)

ONE ALGORITHM TO RULE THEM ALL?

Artificial Intelligence technology has made its entry into the media industry. Content producers and publishers, faced with demanding customers and challenged budgets, see great potential from the use of machine learning, personalization, automation and even autonomous generation of content. BT will soon allow algorithms to control the front page, and other publishers are planning to do the same. What content will the readers be served? And is the editor giving up control?

Truls André Pedersen, Associate Professor, Department of Information Science and Media Studies, UiB. His research areas include Artificial Intelligence, Logic and Multiagent systems.

Derek Bjølgerud, Manager at TV2.no at TV 2 and heads the digital platform and the news room in Oslo.

Jan Stian Vold, News Editor, Bergens Tidende with responsibility for content and publishing in BT's channels, and for directing the daily work of the editorial staff.

Inge Thorud, Product Manager, NRK and responsible for NRK's audience products. He has previously worked as product director, digital at Aller / Dagbladet

Seminar will be held in english.
