Future-Proofing Houston Design Game Workshop

The Adaptive Water Urbanism Initiative isan integrated program of teaching, research, and outreach at the Texas A&M University.The initiative translates cutting-edge research into adaptive planning and design solutions to help communities transform sea level rise, drought, and the compounding effect of coastal, river, and inland flooding into environmentally and financially sustainable place-making opportunities.

How do we future proof Houston so it would be more resilient and livable in the face of more intense storms, more sustained drought, increasing land subsidence, and a rising sea level?
Join our youth, stakeholders, and experts for one of the design game workshops.
Each workshop will first introduce best practices from around the world and Houston's unique opportunities and challenges. Then, participants will play a design game to explore concensus-based design solutions to better adapt Houston to future extreme events.
