Futures Explorers Day at Moonshot Museum

10:00 AM to 5:00 PM | Free Community Event

Discover Your Place in the Future of Space

Join Moonshot Museum for Futures Explorers Day, a free, high-energy, hands-on celebration designed to help students and families discover exciting careers connected to the future of human space exploration. For one inspiring Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the museum will transform into an interactive hub of creativity, innovation, and career exploration for learners from Pre-K through 12th grade.

At Moonshot Museum, visitors can witness a real lunar spacecraft being built in real time. During Futures Explorers Day, students will go even further by stepping into the many roles that power missions like these. Participants will build, design, experiment, collaborate, and imagine while discovering the wide range of careers that make space exploration possible.

Throughout the day, families can engage in rotating hands-on stations including engineering design challenges, rover-building activities, mission control simulations, creative problem-solving experiences, and career pathway mapping. Younger explorers will enjoy imaginative, age-appropriate activities that introduce them to engineers, designers, storytellers, builders, and innovators through movement, storytelling, and creative play. Middle and high school students will dive deeper into aerospace challenges while also exploring entrepreneurship, communications, leadership, and the many behind-the-scenes roles that make large-scale space missions successful.

The day will feature live career panels with real aerospace professionals who will share what they do, how they got started, and the lessons they learned along the way. Students will hear directly from individuals working in engineering, manufacturing, robotics, design, business operations, and emerging technologies, helping them connect their personal interests and skills to real-world opportunities.

Futures Explorers Day is rooted in the belief that the future of space belongs to everyone. By bringing together families, educators, industry professionals, and community partners, this event creates meaningful opportunities for young people to see themselves reflected in the next generation of innovators.

Whether your child dreams of building rockets, designing spacesuits, leading teams, telling powerful stories, coding software, managing projects, or starting a business, this event will help spark new possibilities. The future of space needs scientists and engineers, but it also needs artists, communicators, strategists, and leaders. There is a place for every passion.

This free community event is designed to reduce barriers to access and expand awareness of the growing space workforce right here in our region and beyond.

The future needs problem-solvers, creators, and bold thinkers.
