About this event
Organized by
The purpose of the Minnesota Center for Mineral Resource Education (MCMRE) is to promote awareness of the positive contribution that mineral resources make to the Minnesota way of life, principally by supporting teacher education in mineral resources, including their geology, exploration, development, extraction, uses, reclamation, conservation, and economics; and to give support for the development and implementation of curricula for teaching about mineral resources at the K-12 level of education.
MCMRE, a 501c3 organization, was established in 2009 as the successor to the network of volunteers that had very successfully been organizing the Minnesota Minerals Education Workshop since 1997.
MCMRE is committed to sharing good information meant to empower members of our society to participate in wise decision-making for the benefit of all, and is committed to ensuring respect, accountability, and inclusiveness in governance and facilitation of participation. MCMRE volunteers and participants do not discriminate against any person on the basis of color, creed, disability, national origin, public assistance status, race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation in any MCMRE or MMEW activity.
