About this event

In celebration of 25 years of outreach into the community, support the Minnesota Center for Mineral Resource Education (MCMRE) mission and the Minnesota Minerals Education Workshop (MMEW) 2024 event!

Make a donation of any amount to directly offset the MMEW teacher resources, food costs, bus transportation along the Mesabi Iron Range, workshop supplies, and workshop program for the 25th anniversary of MMEW, celebrated along the Mesabi Iron Range for three days starting June 24th, 2024!

The MCMRE, a 501c3 organization, was established in 2009 as the successor to the network of volunteers that had very successfully been organizing the MMEW since 1997.

The purpose of the MCMRE is to promote awareness of the positive contribution that mineral resources make to the Minnesota way of life, principally by supporting teacher education in mineral resources, including their geology, exploration, development, extraction, uses, reclamation, conservation, and economics; and to give support for the development and implementation of curricula for teaching about mineral resources at the K-12 level of education.

MCMRE is committed to sharing good information meant to empower members of our society to participate in wise decision-making for the benefit of all, and is committed to ensuring respect, accountability, and inclusiveness in governance and facilitation of participation. MCMRE volunteers and participants do not discriminate against any person on the basis of color, creed, disability, national origin, public assistance status, race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation in any MCMRE or MMEW activity.

If you prefer to donate directly to MCMRE, a check can be mailed to the following address, also found at MCMRE.org:
