About this event

The Fundamentals of Suitability for Suitability and Fitness Adjudicators (Fundamentals) is a five day instructor-led course that covers the fundamentals of adjudication of character and conduct through application of the criteria at title 5, Code of Federal Regulations, part 731. It is intended for those adjudicating suitability under OPM delegation or making fitness determinations applying equivalent criteria. This program is compliant with the Fundamental level objectives of the National Training Standards for Suitability Adjudicators.

This in-person course is free but all travel and per diem costs for attendees, if applicable, are at the respective agency's expense.

Upon course completion, attendees will:

- Know how to identify suitability concerns

-Apply the process for making determinations through consistent application of standards

-Understand the importance of proper position designation

-Exercise suitability/fitness reciprocity

This course is offered exclusively to government employees and government contractors.

Registration:

Registrations will only be accepted from individuals who provide a government email address on their registration form for themself and their supervisor.

The Fundamentals of Suitability for Suitability and Fitness Adjudicators Course is a five-day course scheduled from 8 am to 5 pm EST each day at the Theodore Roosevelt Building (TRB) located at 1900 E St, NW, Washington D.C. 20415. Participants are required to attend all five days to complete the course, as well as pass the two quizzes during the course. We ask that you plan your schedule accordingly when you register for the course due to high demand of the course.

Prerequisites:

You will also receive the Introduction course no later than two weeks prior to the course. The Introduction course is a self-paced course required to be completed prior to the first day of class. Successful completion of the online Introduction to Suitability course is required prior to attendance. The Introduction to Suitability course takes approximately three hours to complete.

Cancellations:

If you need to cancel your registration, please do so at least three weeks prior so others have the opportunity to register for the course.

You can cancel by using the “View and manage your order online” hyperlink at the bottom of your registration email sent to you by Eventbrite. Select “Email me a login link” and enter the email address you used to register in the pop-up window. Eventbrite will send an email with a link to log in. Once logged in, select “Cancel Order”, and follow the prompts.
