Fundamentals 101-128

The Fundamentals of Suitability for Suitability and Fitness Adjudicators (Fundamentals) is a five day instructor-led course that covers the fundamentals of adjudication of character and conduct through application of the criteria at title 5, Code of Federal Regulations, part 731. It is intended for those adjudicating suitability under OPM delegation or making fitness determinations applying equivalent criteria. This program is compliant with the Fundamental level objectives of the National Training Standards for Suitability Adjudicators.

Upon course completion, attendees will:

- Know how to identify suitability concerns

-Apply the process for making determinations through consistent application of standards

-Understand the importance of proper position designation

-Exercise suitability/fitness reciprocity

This course is offered exclusively to government employees and government contractors.

Registration:

Registrations will only be accepted from individuals who provide a government email address on their registration form for themself and their supervisor.

The Fundamentals of Suitability for Suitability and Fitness Adjudicators Course is a virtual five-day course scheduled from 8 am to 5 pm EST each day in Microsoft Teams. Participants are required to attend all five days to complete the course, as well as pass the two quizzes during the course. We ask that you plan your schedule accordingly when you register for the course due to high demand of the course.

Prerequisites:

Approximately two weeks prior to the course start date you will receive a calendar invite to the course Question & Answer (Q&A) session. This session lasts approximately one hour and is provided the week prior to the course to assist participants in connecting to the course, provide course orientation, and troubleshoot audio issues. It is highly encouraged that you attend the Q&A session so any technical issues can be resolved prior to the first day of class.

You will also receive the Introduction course with the Q&A invite which is a self-paced course required to be completed prior to the first day of class. Successful completion of the online Introduction to Suitability course is required prior to attendance. The Introduction to Suitability course takes approximately three hours to complete.

After the Q&A session, a calendar invite will be sent for the Fundamentals course which will also include the course material.

Cancellations:

If you need to cancel your registration, please do so at least three weeks prior so others have the opportunity to register for the course. Failure to do so, or repeat cancellations, will result in ineligibility to attend future courses.

To cancel your registration for this course: First locate the registration confirmation you received from Eventbrite. Towards the bottom of the email, you will see a hyperlink that says “View and manage your order online”, click that to open up the Eventbrite page. Select “Email me a login link” and enter in the email address you used to register in the pop-up window. Eventbrite will then send you an email with a link to log in, once you select that link your browser will open to Eventbrite where you will see your order and the option to cancel your order, select “Cancel Order” and follow the prompts.
