Odyssey ClayWorks is an educational pottery center in Ashevillethat seeks to make a difference in the life of our community by opening the diversity of ceramic traditions to all its members – but especially those who would not otherwise have access. We offer classes and workshops in all aspects of pottery making. Unique to our studio are professional development for K-12 teachers, a free therapeutic program for veterans, a residency for early career ceramic artists, award-winning programming for kids, and high school mentoring.For more information call:(828)-285-0210

Odyssey ClayWorks

FUNctional Figures, Ages 8-12 with Sara Ballek. June 18-22. Monday- Friday, 2-5pm. Have you ever seen a fox turn into a coffee mug? Or used a unicorn horn for a handle? What if you could make your own with clay? This camp will focus on getting students comfortable on using the wheel while having the creative freedom to turn their pots into fun characters along the way! We will be learning how to make several types of functional objects and incorporate handbuilding techniques to give them a personality!Tuition $225. $25 discount for a sibling in the same camp, enter discount code "sibling25".
