The Chicago Architecture Biennial is the largest architecture and design exhibition in North America, uniting the global vanguard of architectural thought and practice with the city of Chicago’s unique legacy of architectural innovation. Every two years the Biennial creates new opportunities for emerging talent in architecture, design, and the arts — engaging a wide public audience with hundreds of events, exhibitions, and programs happening around the city.

Chicago Cultural Center

Be a gingerbread architect! Visit the Learning Lab at the Chicago Architecture Biennial for this free drop-in activity. Plan and build your structure of choice—maybe a Chicago workers cottage, 2-flat apartment or modern skyscraper—and get creative with a green roof or native plant garden. Materials will be provided and activity is open to all ages. Registration encouraged. The <a href="http://www.chicagoarchitecturebiennial.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Chicago Architecture Biennial</a> (open now through January 5, 2020) is the largest exhibition of architecture, art, and design in North America. <a href="http://bit.ly/CAB-youth-family" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Youth and family programs</a> are held at the Chicago Cultural Center and community offsites every week, including <a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/chicago-architecture-biennial-family-tour-tickets-82046149241" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">family-friendly tours</a>.Before or after the event, explore the exhibition and learn more about Biennial projects and topics — from housing to natural resources and the environment — with the <a href="http://chicagoarchitecturebiennial.org/uploads/1400014/1571174292741/Biennial_YPG.pdf" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Young People&#x27;s Guide</a>, a free activity book available online and in the Learning Lab.
