Join us at Gray Branch Parkland in McKinney for a full Forest Bathing experience with Bethany Kilgore!
Come see what forest bathing is all about! Previous participants have said "it's a gentle awakening to the beauty around you" and it helped them "de-stress and relax."
During the 2 hour experience, Bethany will guide you through various invitations, using your senses as you slowly find unique ways to connect with nature. Portions of the experience will involve sitting and light walking (no more than 1 mile).
Not sure what Forest Bathing is? Quite simply, it's an opportunity to connect with nature through your senses. If you're looking for a little self-care weekend, this is a great opportunity to reset your nervous system. Previous participants have shared that they've felt more peaceful, centered, and creative after participating in forest bathing.
What can you expect?
- An introduction to the park we're visiting
- Slowly walking on a shaded trail; no more than 1 mile total round-trip
- A series of invitations to explore nature through a variety of our senses, which are focused on slowing down to give our bodies and brains a break.
- Moments of sharing and listening. Opportunities to share what you're noticing and listen to others' observations. During these group circles, it's not required that everyone participate by sharing.
- Iced tea (offered by your guide) to close out the experience
What should you bring?
- Pants and trail/hiking shoes recommended as we will be walking through a portion of Gray Branch Parkland. In addition, bring water, sunscreen, and bug spray. You may want to consider bringing a small blanket or towel should you prefer to sit for some parts of this practice.
Where to park and meet:
- Gravel parking lot is available next to the maintenance building located at 1299 Gray Branch Rd.
Weather disclosure
- If weather does not allow us to have our event or recent weather has caused the trail to close, we will either use a paved trail, reschedule, refund your ticket price OR you can transfer to another event. Please check your email and the Facebook event for any updates
