Fruit Tree Pruning Class
Sat, March 25, 2017, 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM CDT
Learn how to prune your backyard fruit trees at home by practicing in our community orchard! Proper pruning can introduce new vigor into older trees, and train younger trees to produce more. It helps keep trees of all ages healthier and less prone to disease.
We'll start at the Harriet Alexander Nature Center in the classroom with a presentation by our pruning expert for the first hour, have a short break, then head across the street to the community orchard in the Roseville arboretum to get hands-on learning experience for the remainder of class.
The address for the arboretum is 2525 Dale St N, Roseville, MN 55113. Feel free to park at either the Nature Center or arboretum parking lots. The Harriet Alexander Nature Center is a short walk due east of the lot, along a wooded trail. We will be in the downstairs classroom.
Please bring a notebook and pen for your note-taking needs. No need to bring tools, we will provide enough for everyone. A free copy of our Fruit Tree Maintenence Guide will be available to take home.
All donations will go towards covering class expenses and supporting The Food Group's work with local food shelves. Click here for more information on The Food Group.
