Fruit Tree & Berry Pruning Workshop

Join us for an informative and hands-on intensive workshop on pruning fruit trees and berry bushes.

Pruning always seems to be a topic that intimidates a lot of people. One wrong snip and you could set your fruit tree back years! But at the same time, once you understand the fundamentals, you'll realize just how easy and enjoyable pruning really is. So get ready to leave your pruning worries behind and come join us for a day-long pruning workshop where we will co over the fundamentals of pruning fruit trees, nut trees, berry bushes, and other plants!

Workshop Format

The workshop will take place from 10 am to 4 pm with a lunch break in between. We will provide plenty of pruning tools, but we encourage you to bring your own pruning tools if you have them. The workshop will cover pruning theory and practice and everyone who attends will have a chance to practice the various techniques and shapes taught in the workshop.

Workshop Schedule

9:45 - 10:00 pm: Meet at Hundred Fruit Farm, sign in for the workshop.

10:00 - 10:30 pm: The why and how of pruning

10:30 - 11:00: Pruning tools overview and maintenance

11:30-12:15: Fruit tree pruning fundamentals

12:15-1:00: LUNCH (bring your own packed lunch)

1:00 - 2:00 pm: Berry pruning funamentals

2:00 - 4:00 pm: Hands-on practice pruning fruit trees and berry plants

Workshop Cost

The cost for the workshop is $55 per person. Participants will be able to take home berry cuttings to propagate their own berry plants. Anyone who can graft is also welcome to take home free scion for grafting.

Does the ticket price include all fees?

Yes! This is not standard practice for Eventbrite, but because nobody likes hidden fees (including us), we are absorbing the fees ourselves in the ticket cost. (This works out to be about $5 per ticket that goes towards Eventbrite and credit card processing.) Just be aware that if cancel and ask for a refund on your ticket, we are unable to refund those fees.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is geared towards beginners who are 13+. Anyone under the age of 18 must attend with a guardian. All participants will be asked to sign a waiver.
