About this event

Join us for a unique opportunity to create your own kitchen utensil from locally sourced timber, and learn how to use organic linseed oil and beeswax as a natural wood finish and sealant.

This workshop is perfect for beginners and seasoned tree and foodie enthusiasts alike and offers a chance to engage with the art of regenerative practices in a relaxed, educational, and empowering environment.

We will provide pre-made rough-cut pieces from various local trees, shaped into either spoon or spatula blanks. Each has its own story and unique characteristics. You’ll have the option to hand-sand and finish carving your utensil. Then, you will finish your piece with linseed oil and beeswax, sealing in the beauty of the wood. Learning how linseed oil and beeswax can regeneratively finish many types of wood found in your home!

You’ll take your new functional piece of art home with you, along with a small bottle of organic wood sealer/furniture polish made from linseed oil and beeswax.

All materials needed will be supplied, including sandpaper and organic oil/beeswax mixture for finishing. Bring your creativity and readiness to learn!

Spaces are limited, please register in advance. Light refreshments will be served.
