Kicking off the event on Thursday, May 9th, is the dynamic duo of Jesse Sykes and Joey "JAM" Mandal from the Hybrid crew. Brace yourself for an explosive start as JAM leads a 2-hour Boogaloo Intensive, followed by Jesse Sykes immersing participants in a 3-hour Waving Intensive, taking the art to new depths.
May 10th promises to be a day of more skill refinement with Alex's 1-hour Waving class in the morning. The energy escalates with Triet Hoang's 2-hour Popping Intensive, and as the day unfolds, Alex returns for a deeper dive with her 3-hour Waving intensive, pushing boundaries and expanding horizons.
Post-workshops, the day continues with exhilarating cyphers, where participants can showcase their newfound knowledge, fostering a sense of community and paving the way for the battles following day.
May 11th is the grand finale, dedicated to the competitive spirit. Jesse Sykes ignites the day with a warm-up class, setting the stage for fierce battles in the Waving/Popping and Open Style categories. With a substantial $1000 cash prize for Waving/Popping judged by Alex, Triet, and Jesse. And $750 for Open Style, judged by Jesse, Jam, and Triet. The competition eill be fierce and the stakes are high.
The battles unfold over a diverse soundtrack, weaving through Glitch Hop, Melodic Bass, Funk for our Waving/Popping category. Funk, Old School Hip-Hop, House Music, and RnB for our Open Style. Creating a vibrant tapestry of movement and sound.
Beyond the battles, the event blossoms with live art, a bustling vendor area, and a tempting array of food and drinks. As the day concludes, the excitement doesn't wane; an after-hours music event featuring the sensational artist STARFOX, Benjamins Vibe, and Emanate as they promise an unforgetable night of frequncies from 11:55 pm to 4 am.
