From Practice to Performance: Improv Level 2

You know the basics. Now it’s time to start using them.

Jersey Improv Lab’s six-week Level 2 workshop is for adults who have completed at least 12 hours of training and want to go a bit deeper, both on and off stage.

You’ll work with the same group each week, which gives you time to get comfortable, build trust, and actually improve your scene work over time.

Over six weeks, you’ll:

• Strengthen your scene work and make clearer, faster decisions
• Be heard and own the room
• Make bold choices without the second-guessing
• Build more connected scenes with your scene partners
• Stay present and adaptable when things don’t go as planned
• Develop real ensemble chemistry within a consistent group

As the weeks go on, you’ll start to see how the pieces fit together and feel more comfortable being seen, taking risks, and stepping into the unknown.

The workshop ends with a live Armando-style improv showcase for friends and family.

You’ll also be part of a small but growing improv community here in Hoboken and Jersey City, with opportunities to keep practicing and performing without having to go into the city.

Early registrants will receive a highly discounted access to improv drop-in sessions leading up to the workshop ($7 per session instead of $30), so you can stay sharp and connected to the improv community between now and September.

Workshop Dates: 9/16, 9/23, 9/30, 10/7, 10/14, 10/21 (every Wednesday)

Day/Time: Wednesdays, 6:30–9:30 PM

Location: Symposia Bookstore, Downtown Hoboken

Grad Show Details: 8 PM on 10/23 at Snack Bar in Hoboken (520 Adams St.)

Workshop Fee: $350 (Includes all six sessions + live graduation showcase)

Capacity: Limited to 16 participants

For those who want to continue, we’ll be offering advanced workshops focused on deeper scene work and ensemble development that will eventually qualify you to be part of our house team.

These opportunities will be shared first with current students.

Policies & Notes

• Enrollment is limited and advance registration is required.
• We reserve the right to substitute instructors when necessary.
• If minimum enrollment is not met, the workshop may be canceled and all enrolled students will receive a full refund.
• Refunds are available up to 30 days before the first session, minus a $25 administrative fee. After that, refunds are not available. Registrations may be transferred to another person by emailing hello@jerseyimprovlab.com.
