2022 Beyond the PhD Summer Events

This summer Beyond the PhD has four exciting events scheduled. Starting July 1st with a informal workshop about CV and resumes. We also have invited guest speakers Dr. Piecuch, Dr. Kick, and Dr. Scanlon to discuss various careers.

<p>Vanessa is a wife and mother of two adorable little boys. She was born and raised in CT, received a bachelors degree in Molecular Cell Biology and a second bachelors degree in Diagnostic Genetic Sciences, both from UConn, Storrs. She studied the process of fracture repair in her PhD in the lab of Archana Sanjay, PhD at UConn Health, and pursued postdoctoral training in hematopoiesis and long-term time lapse imaging in the lab of Diane Krause, MD, PhD at Yale School of Medicine. Vanessa is currently an Assistant Professor
 in the Center for Regenerative Medicine and Skeletal Biology
 at UConn Health. She is passionate about science and strengthening the pipeline of underrepresented individuals to successful research careers. Her research interests include hematopoiesis and the bone marrow microenvironment. In her spare time, she enjoys live music, gardening, and star gazing.</p>
