About this event

Spraoi agus Sport and Solas BT7, with the support of Shared Island, welcome all those working in disability and inclusion who wish to expand their community of practice and professional understanding through this knowledge and networking event.

We welcome Dr Emma Craig, a Board Certified and UK Certified Behaviour Analyst with over 15 years of experience working alongside autistic individuals and people with intellectual disabilities, to the North West. She will deliver a session exploring best practice in supporting individuals who engage in behaviours of concern, with a strong focus on empathy, understanding, and person-centred support. This talk and workshop will offer practical guidance for understanding distressed behaviours, preventing escalation and responding with compassion.

We are also taking the opportunity to create a community of people working within the sector and will introduce the work of Spraoi agus Sport and the Sli Workability programme and invite you to lunch and an informal opportunity to meet each other.

Dr Emma Craig is a Board Certified and UK Certified Behaviour Analyst with over 15 years of experience working alongside autistic individuals and people with intellectual disabilities. She’s committed to providing compassionate, person-centred support that makes a real difference in the lives of the people she works with.

This session explores best practice in supporting individuals who engage in behaviours of concern, with a strong focus on empathy, understanding, and person-centred support. We'll look beyond behaviour as a problem to be managed and instead consider what it communicates about a person’s needs and their environment. This talk will offer practical guidance for understanding distressed behaviours, preventing escalation and responding with compassion. www.craigschoice.co.uk
