Fro Your Information is an educational and hands-on hair care class designed to help transracial foster, adoptive, and kinship families confidently care for Afro-textured hair. This class goes beyond styling by exploring the history and cultural significance of Black hair and the important role hair care plays in a child’s identity, self-esteem, and sense of belonging.Participants will learn basic hair maintenance techniques, including washing, detangling, moisturizing, and protective styling through guided demonstrations and hands-on practice using Afro-textured mannequins. Families will also receive helpful resources, product recommendations, and a roster of local hair care professionals who are committed to supporting their journey. Our goal is to equip caregivers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to love their child’s hair and honor their heritage.
