Frequency Flow: A Creative Reset

Founded in 1974 and named for Charlotte civic leader and former mayor Harvey Bernard Gantt, the Gantt Center’s mission is to present, preserve and celebrate excellence in the art, history and culture of African-Americans and those of African descent. Designed by reknowned architech Philip Freelon, co-designer of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in our nation's capital, the Gantt Center features fine art exhibits from around the world, culture programs & events, and digital art technology. About the ProgramThis installment of Frequency Flow offers an intentional creative reset led by Janiyah Shelton. Designed for creatives, artists and innovators, this session creates space to pause, recharge, and reconnect with clarity.As a counterbalance to constant stimulation, participants are invited into a practice of stillness, deep listening, and embodied presence. The experience weaves together curated music, guided journaling prompts, and immersive sound bowl meditation to support nervous system regulation, spark creative inspiration, and foster meaningful community connection. About the Instructor Janiyah Shelton is a Charlotte-based DJ and sound facilitator who creates immersive experiences at the intersection of music, reflection, and restoration. Through her event series, Frequency Flow, she blends curated soundscapes, guided journaling, and Tibetan singing bowls to help participants reconnect with clarity, creativity, and inner balance.
