Overview

Learn how to freeze your harvest like a pro and keep that seasonal flavor all year round!

In the Sandhills, we enjoy fresh fruits and veggies in late spring and into the Fall. Learn how to keep your harvest for enjoyment throughout the year in our Freezing Basics class.

In this class you will learn information about the following:

Foods that do not freeze well

Containers for freezing

Dry pack or tray pack for fruit

Blanching vegetables

Headspace to allow

Packaging and labeling

How long frozen foods can be stored

Thawing and preparing foods to serve

Participants will gain hands on experience in blanching vegetables.
