About this event

  • 1 hour

Whether you're new to gardening or you've had a butterfly garden for years, there's always more to learn to make your yard and garden more welcoming to our native wildlife.

It's always a delight to see a monarch butterfly or a ruby-throated hummingbird in the wild (your own backyard!). We'll discuss everything you need to know to attract, feed, and provide habitat for these and many more of our local fauna. Come ready to learn about the best plants, garden design elements, and landscape maintenance techniques to create the perfect garden ecosystem. Whether you're planting acres or just patio containers, there are ways to support wildlife and we'll touch on it all.

Our speaker is Lauren Gentry, Urban Earth general manager and former high school chemistry and biology teacher. She's an avid gardener and pulls from her science background to implement best practices for her own backyard. She's a nerd for native plants and animals of all kinds so bring your curiousity and questions.
