An exhibit encouraging a personal connection to fine art is on display at the Cultural Arts Center of Douglasville/ Douglas County (CAC) from May 5-June 27, 9 am – 5 pm.
Focused on breaking down traditional walls between gallery viewers and displayed art, the exhibit features textured, evocative, pieces that beg to be touched; from smooth, yet dimpled metal sculptures, to rough clay pots, and even pieces incorporating brail, infusing meaning into the work that only the blind can see.
This exhibit acknowledges that touch is essential to both physical and mental health, providing a sense of understanding and grounding. The free opening reception will be celebrated on Thursday, May 8 from 6-8 pm, hosted by Sankofa Catering & Special Events. Anyone and everyone is invited.
