About this event

Join us for a coffee cupping with Little Waves Coffee! We'll dive into some of our current coffee offerings, and develop our palates by tasting coffees the way professional roasters do. This in-person event will take place at 2013 Chapel Hill Road, at the Lakewood Cocoa Cinnamon. Our Director of Wholesale and Education will guide you through the process of smelling, tasting, and assessing each coffee to unlock your fuller palate. We'll put our palates to the test by coffees side by side with different terroirs, processing methods and origins.

To give everyone the best experience, please refrain from wearing any strong scents.

What's a coffee cupping?

A cupping is the process that coffee professionals use to taste and evaluate coffee. We'll break it down into the different attributes of coffee, such as aroma, fragrance, body, and acidity, and try to pay attention to each of these attributes as we taste

I've never done a cupping before. Is this event for beginners?

Yes! This is a great opportunity to taste different coffees side by side and develop your palate. Everyone brings something unique to the table when it comes to tasting, and we would love to have you there!

Is there a difference between a cupping and a plain old coffee tasting?

A cupping helps isolate different components of the coffee to really hone in on the full experience. It can give us a fuller impression of the coffee and is helpful in leveling the playing field so that each coffee is evaluated under the same conditions.

The parking lot looks pretty full. Is there anywhere else to park?

There's additional parking across the street in the Lakewood Shopping Center.
