About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Come on out to Napa's North Bay BMX on Sunday, May 19, for our FREE "Give it a Try" Open House, specifically for new families, to learn about and experience the sport of BMX Racing, in a non-intimidating environment. The event runs 9:00AM-10:30AM, and follows a structured timeline.

*ONE TICKET PER RIDER* – Family members NOT riding do NOT need a ticket.

The Napa Bike League early-Summer season begins Sunday, June 2, so this is a perfect opportunity to take to the pedals in a Beginners-only atmosphere, and get started in an activity that promises fun, fitness and family time—at the BMX track.

Ready to enroll for the Napa BMX League? Visit: napabmxleague.com

*You do NOT need to attend our Open House to join the League.

Our Open House event offers ride time to boys & girls, ages 3-15, and parents/grandparents (a “Beginner” is someone who does not participate in USA BMX Open Racing).

*IMPORTANT* – Participants need the ability to ride a pedal bike without training wheels. Those that can't yet, can add themselves to our balance/push bike info list – https://forms.gle/homXQUPG4QzcXRZ29

Already have a bicycle and helmet? Bring it along, it'll work the best for you. Don't have one or the other? You can also use our loaner equipment for FREE!

*Our various sizes of loaner bikes/helmets will fit the typical 3-4 year olds, all the way up to adults.

Here’s a rundown of how the day will be structured:

For Riders

Experience the freedom and excitement of our “roll-around," as riders take their bicycle through the manageable jumps and turns of the North Bay BMX track. Basic instruction provided by Napa resident & Olympic Bronze Medalist, Donny Robinson, and past League-graduate families.

For Parents

A “walk-around” of the facility and the various “stations” of the BMX track. Then a briefing on how the League format works. Parents are also open to get reacquainted with bikes of their own and ride alongside their children, making for a perfect opportunity to create lasting memories.

For the Whole Family

  • A welcome message from Napa BMX League volunteers
  • Firsthand stories from BMX families on what the sport of BMX Racing has done for them
  • Group and personal Q&A time to answer all your questions
  • Meet some existing League families

What to Bring/What to Wear for Riders

  • Long pants, long sleeves, athletic shoes with a soft "grippy" sole
  • A bike and helmet (free demo equipment is available to use on-site)

Get the kids off the couch and on a bike! Race BMX... America's fastest-growing family sport.
