I am one of only THREE physicians in the state of Virginia certified to treat perinatal mental health. I am sure you are all tired of getting conflicting and inaccurate information, and I am here to set the record straight.
Please RSVP for your sessions so we can get an estimate on how many people will be attending. You will receive a confirmation email once you get a FREE ticket. Zoom link will be sent to you via email AT THE TIME OF THE GROUP THERAPY SESSION.
To be inclusive, we will try to use the term PMADS (Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders) rather than PPD (Postpartum Depression)- because 1. we want to include pregnant women and 2 we want to include people who suffer from mental health issues other than depression. 1 in 5 to 7 women have PMADs. Did you know dads can have PMADs too? Actually 10% of them do. Adoptive parents can experience this as well. Anyone who feels this group will benefit them may join.
Almost 80% of women have the "baby blues" we will discuss the difference between this and depression.
