About this event

Healthy Outdoor Communities (HOC) is sponsoring a free 2 day grant writing workshop for community based non-profit organizations and schools in the Acres Homes and Third Ward communities. Find out more about Healthy Outdoor Communities HERE.

Dates & Times: You need to be able to attend both sessions.

Saturday & Sunday, Oct. 10-11, 9am-3pm both days

Space is limited, so all registrants will be placed on a waiting list initially so we can ensure all participants meet the guidelines for registration. We will notify participants as they are approved to participate. Approved participants will receive an email on the Friday before the event with login details.

During this intensive 2-day workshop led by Nonprofit Solutions Consultants, you will learn the following:

  • Introduction to the funding landscape
  • Trends that define philanthropy today
  • Best practices for communicating with donors
  • Refining your message
  • Developing strategies for researching and approaching funders
  • Crafting a comprehensive plan for successful grant writing
  • Creating a fundraising “Tool Kit”
  • Writing powerful and persuasive cover letters
  • Developing an outline for an executive summary and narrative

Participants who complete the 2-day workshop will get to submit a grant proposal with cover letter, case statement, and budget for a free detailed critique by Nonprofit Solutions Consultants. You must actually participate in both days' discussions (not just log in) to be eligible for the free grant proposal review.
