Slow Down and Find Solace in Drawing Nature
This two-hour free drawing workshop is based in a philosophy of aesthetics that takes nature as your teacher. Diane Szczepaniak, a painter and sculptor, will share with you ideas about space and the dynamics of form as you learn to draw the way a tree grows – slowly.
No experience is necessary, just an open mind. For all ages 12 and up.  Provided the weather cooperates, we will be drawing outdoors, of course!  Bring a sketch pad, something to draw with (pencils, charcoal) and an eraser.  
Diane Szczepaniak began her career drawing and sculpting the figure, a process that gave her an understanding of the physicality of objects in space, which has remained with her throughout her career and brought her directly to abstraction. As an artist, she is interested in how objects meaningfully acquire their own fullness of being. For the last six years, she has presented annual workshops exploring line, color, perception, and space for the Dudley Fellows at Harvard University. Her work is in national and international private and public collections
