Do I need to bring anything? A partner?

Accepted Answer

No need to bring anything other than yourself! We recommend wearing clothes and shoes you're comfortable moving in :) And, while a partner isn't necessary, if you do have some friends who would be interested, we encourage you to bring them out with you!

Question 3

I know how to dance NY style or linear salsa - do I need to take a beginner class for rueda?

Accepted Answer

Yes! While there are similarities between linear salsa and Cuban salsa, they are different dances (both in the music, the movements, and in how leads/follows communicate). That being said, we would love to have people familiar with linear salsa come check out a new style of dance with us!

Both of this group's instructors have been dancing for over 10 years, and have been teaching out in CA for the last several years!

These classes are for anyone who shows up with energy to build community through dance! While we're not exclusively a student / young professionals group, we make classes free largely because we've been there and recognize the importance of having an accessible space free of financial barriers <3
