Creative nonfiction, also called 'personal essay' or' personal narrative', is a form that weaves storytelling with reflection and fact. In this hour-long Zoom workshop, you will read and discuss powerful creative nonfiction pieces to get inspired before setting out to write your own. The workshop is free and open to all young adult writers of any level - whether you are an essayist, fiction writer, poet, or just looking to try something new, sign up now to join us! You will receive an email a few days before the workshop with the Zoom link. You will also receive email updates and news about related opportunities.
What to expect: The workshop will last an hour with roughly 30 minutes of presentation and discussion, followed by 20 minutes of individual writing time and 10 minutes to share your work. Attendees can choose whether to have their cameras and mics on, and sharing writing with the rest of the group is optional.
