During the last two summers, Stephen has toured country wide teaching Bachata in 29 cities across 14 states. Prior to moving to New Mexico he was teaching progressive Bachata programs with Bachata Sensual Orlando, one of the top bachata studios in the country. And Prior to Orlando, Stephen ran a dance business on Maui, where he taught Bachata and Salsa for 7 years. His own training has included extended visits to Spain, birthplace of Bachata Sensual- where he's trained with renowned artists such as Daniel and Desiree, Sara and Marco, Luis and Andrea, and Korke and Judith. Joanie is a multi-disciplinary dance artist with 13+ years of teaching experience. Starting with Irish Step dance at age 5, she transitioned to belly dance at the age of 14, and by age 18 was teaching and performing regularly. She spent 8 years as a senior faculty member at Saffron Dance, one of the largest belly dance schools in the country, eventually serving as Artistic Director from 2017-2020. During this time she also spent 5 years as a soloist and company dancer with Nomad Dancers, a Persian and Central Asian performance troupe in Washington DC. In 2017, she discovered partner dance, starting with Bachata and soon expanding to Brazilian Zouk. Although no longer a full-time dancer, she continues to find great joy in dance and is excited to return to teaching!
