Frank McComb is a world-class vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and visual storyteller whose career spans more than 25 years of timeless, soul-driven music. Renowned for his authenticity and artistry, Frank McComb has built a global reputation as one of the most respected independent voices in contemporary soul. His fans affectionately describe his work as the perfect combination of Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, George Duke, and Chick Corea.
He first garnered widespread recognition with his independently produced third album, "Straight From The Vault"—the first project he fully wrote, produced, and recorded himself—earning the inaugural Reader’s Choice Award for Best Album of the Year from SoulTracks, as well as a spotlight in O Magazine as one of Jill Scott's favorite CDs. "Straight From The Vault" became Prince's favorite body of work by Frank McComb at the time. The album’s opening track, “White Line in the Sky”, continues to resonate with new audiences and was featured in the 2024 Peacock film If You Were The Last.
A highly decorated independent artist, Frank has received multiple accolades and nominations, including SoulTracks nominations for Best Male Vocalist and Top Song (2019) for “High” featuring Eric Roberson. In 2023, he earned the Indie Soul Award for Male Artist of the Year for his acclaimed single “We Were Made For Us.” Most recently, in January 2026, he was honored with the Indie Lifetime Achievement Award from Soul Cafe Radio, recognizing his enduring impact on independent soul music. Frank was honored by Music Radar as the 27th greatest keyboard player of all time.
Frank has worked with many of the entertainment industry's giants including but not limited to: Prince, Branford Marsalis, George Duke, Patrice Rushen, George Benson, Philip Bailey and Ralph Johnson (Earth, Wind, and Fire), Walter Williams (The O'Jays), The Rude Boys, Phil Perry, Tommy Davidson, Fred Hammond, John P. Kee, Till Bronner, songwriting duo Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, rap dup D.J.
